Bouldering and climbing culture in a more than 100-year-old train factory.

Project Konepaja is a training place for climbers, enhanced by various events ranging from grassroots activities to larger spectacles. Our vision is not just to build a climbing gym — but to create a space where community and passion for the sport meet.

The project started with our dream of building a space that combines an exceptional location with excellent training facilities. Project Konepaja works in partnership with KiipeilyAreena and members of KiipeilyAreena can train in our facilities with a valid membership.

The Konepaja area offers a cultural experience with great transportation connections. In addition to climbing, you can enjoy a wide selection of restaurants and other activities. Come and experience a piece of Helsinki history!

You can easily get there by public transport or by car. The tram (no. 9) brings you directly to the door. The tram (no. 3) to Linnanmäki stop is 400 metres away. Buses 59, 500 and 510 run in the vicinity. The nearest parking spaces are located on Aleksis Kiven katu and Teollisuuskatu. By registering at the Vallila Lidl parking garage, you can park for one hour free of charge.

Street parking is free in the area on weekends.

Climbing

The facility features changing boulder routes, a spraywall, Monsterwall, Kilter board, Tension II board (coming in winter 2025/2026) and Moonboard 2024. In addition, there are extensive training facilities such as campus and finger boards. There is also a gym area for clients to use, suitable for strength and aerobic training.
